Manager/ Assistant Manager, Product Non-Motor Underwriting

Job Responsibilities:
  • Technical Underwriting – perform prudent underwriting risk assessments for new and renewal business across various lines of Commercial Insurances (Property, Casualty, Employees’ Compensation, Marine, Bond, Interior Decoration) and Personal Insurances
  • Portfolio Management – maintain profitable result for a designated book of business and identify trends and exposures
  • Producer Relationship Management – select and develop brokers and agents with business matching Company’s underwriting appetite and strategic directions
  • Quality Servicing Standard– response to business enquiries in quick and professional manner and ensure timely issuance of policy documents
  • Compliance & Governance – ensure underwriting decisions and documentation comply with internal policies and respective local regulations
  • Strategic Review of Product Offerings and Underwriting Appetite – assist team leader in periodic review on product, pricing and underwriting guideline, and consolidate feedback from the market and producers. Participate in any follow-up revamp projects
  • Cross Selling – refer potential business opportunities and relationships to other Underwriting Departments. On-going sharing of market intelligence and participating in cross-departments projects
  • Work as one team – support other teammates in ad hoc tasks or projects of the Team
Job Requirements:
  • Degree holder and preferably with relevant Insurance Professional Designation / Qualifications;
  • At least 5-8 year solid work experience in insurance industry, preferably experience on commercial lines on production underwriting role;
  • E-commerce knowledge or extensive business network will be an asset;
  • Team management experience will be a plus;
  • Outspoken, good communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Quick learner, strong numerical sense & good business acumen.
*Less experience candidate will be considered as Senior Executive/Executive*
